Changes to Bus Services from Monday 29 March 2010
A new integrated bus network for the Illawarra region will commence on the 29 March 2010, following an extensive community consultation process. Local bus services will be operated by Premier Illawarra, Dion's Bus Service and Greens Northern Coaches
Major changes to services include;
- Route 4 services have increased to be every 60 minutes during the day on weekdays, either via a direct link to Wollongong, or utilising the Route 4U and transferring at Corrimal to link with Route 1.
- Route 4 will operate from Railway Street Corrimal and then along Pioneer Road, servicing Pendlebury Loop, to Park Road Woonona. The bus will then proceed along the Northern Distributor to Campbell Street, and then meet the Princes Highway at Woonona Shops before terminating at Bulli Hotel.
- From Bulli Hotel, Route 4 will continue to Point Street, along Blackall Street, Trinity Row, Farrell Road, Molloy Street and connecting to the Highway to retrace the previous trip.
- Route 4 will no longer operate via Bellambi Lane, Beach Drive, Kulgoa Road, or Carrington Street.
- Route 4 will now have two transfer points.
- If heading south into Wollongong the current transfer point outside of Stocklands Corrimal will continue to operate.
If you are heading from Wollongong to East Woonona, or simply commuting from Corrimal to East Woonona or Bulli Beach, a new transfer point has now been established west of the Princes Hwy in Railway Street.
The bus operators together with NSW Transport and Infrastructure will closely monitor school bus services and interchange locations to ensure a high level of service is maintained.
